We would like to make members aware of the Cork Branch outings also, as many members are able to attend both. Their outings can be found on their website

Except where indicated, all events are free and non-Members are very welcome.

Bantry – Gulls and Divers
11.00am    Outing to Bantry to watch gulls and divers. Meet at car park off the town square on the road to SuperValu (GPS 51.681065, -9.45507). Bring suitable footwear and a picnic lunch.

Timoleague and Courtmacsherry Estuaries
2:00pm    Join us on the lookout for the waders, herons, divers and ravens that call the estuaries home. Meet at Timoleague Abbey (GPS 51.64386, -8.76360).

Annual General Meeting and talk by John Horton
“Establishing South Africa’s First Bird Observatory”
7:30pm    Our AGM is a great chance to meet the team and get involved in the Branch. The more hands the better! The meeting will be followed by a fascinating talk by John Horton, Bird Warden on Cape Clear Island.

West Cork peninsulas – Spring migration

Outing to Cape Clear
10:45am    Outing to Cape Clear Island and bird ringing demonstration. Depart on 10:45am ferry from Baltimore and meet at Cape Clear Bird Observatory on arrival.
Return on 5.00pm ferry. Bring suitable footwear, clothing and a picnic lunch. Any changes to sailing times will be posted on our website; check in advance.
